Hi everyone. This is a 'painting using a non art substance' I've just completed for my painting assignment. I spent many happy hours 'pasting' the pieces in with paint and really like the result. Am now going to try a circular one... I do so love jigsaws!!!

I LOVE THE TEXTURE ON THIS JODIE FROM A DISTANCE IT LOOKS LIKE RUSHING FOR A MAT OR A DETAIL SHOT OF KNITTING - WHAT ARE THE BITS MADE OF? WHAT COURSE ARE YOU DOING? THE COLOUR AND COMPOSITON ARE GREAT JODIE! XXDI
ReplyDeleteThey are jigsaw puzzle pieces laid end on and 'glued' together with paint. I'm doing a BA in Fine Art in Norwich... Are you going to Briancon this year? I missed last year, but am coming this year.... Thanks for your comment. Regards.
ReplyDeleteOh Jodi, I wish I was coming to Briancon this fall - rats!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your "painting!!!" I hope that your instructor was thrilled with your brilliant "out of the box" solution to the assignment!
I am in awe.....thanks for explaining it (above) as I needed that information, too. super cool!

Blimey! Jodie....we knew you were good when we all watched you stitch that tea cosy with such passion 2 years ago at Briancon, but we should have guessed that you were in actual fact a FINE ARTIST! this image is wonderful, and very inspirational.....so lovely to hear from you....

Hi Jodie - yes im going to Briancon - for the Rachel Hazell workshop end of July/early August. Are you going back on Julie's course or another one? Im sure you will excell in Fine Art if this is an example. What a fabulouse texture the pieces provide and what an ingenious material! xxdi
